Once upon a time…

Once upon a time in the village of Oak Park, a 14-year-old girl named Lauren had a gift for baking. Her kitchen was always filled with the scents of warm cookies, frosted cupcakes, and freshly baked brownies. But Lauren didn’t just bake for herself—she dreamed of creating treats that could bring joy to her entire community.

One day, while walking through the woods, she met a squirrel named Sprinkles, who gave her three magical acorns. “Plant these,” he said, “and your dream will come true.” That night, Lauren planted the acorns, and by morning, a whimsical bakery appeared called Fable & Frosting Bakery.

Lauren filled her bakery with desserts inspired by tales of kindness and courage. She even decided to donate 10% of her earnings to buy children's books that celebrate diverse cultures, abilities, and perspectives for little libraries across the village, sharing the magic of inclusive stories with others.

Before long, Fable & Frosting Bakery became a place for community —a place where desserts and stories brought people together. And so, Lauren’s dream grew, proving that with a little imagination and a lot of heart, even the smallest ideas can change the world.

The End.

Meet the Chef

In the lively village of Oak Park, not so long ago, there lived a spirited girl named Lauren, whose ideas sparkled like fireflies. Even as a first-grader, she couldn’t resist selling her treasures at school despite her teacher’s requests to stop. Summers on her block were filled with toy, book, and ice cream sales, and one year, she even ran a slime-making booth at a local festival.

But Lauren’s heart wasn’t just creative—it was kind. In third grade, moved by the plight of children at the border, she rallied her school to make and sell bracelets, raising funds to support them. The following year, noticing a lack of diverse books in Little Free Libraries, she launched a campaign that raised over $1,500 to fill them with stories from all cultures.

Lauren’s passion for helping others only grew. She volunteered with shelters, fed the hungry, and cared for animals, spreading kindness wherever she went. Now, her latest venture combines her love of baking with her mission to make the world a sweeter place, proving that even the smallest acts can create the greatest change.
